Dr. Viola Morolo
Dr. Viola Morolo is establishing a Urological Cancer and Incontinence centre of excellence at Cure Day Hospital Midstream.
Dr. Viola Morolo is a specialist Urologist, a fellow of the college of Urologists of South Africa who completed her FC Urol (SA) and MMed (Urol) with the University of Pretoria. She is the first female Urologist to graduate at the University of Pretoria.
After completing her undergraduate degree in medicine and surgery at MEDUNSA, Dr. Morolo practised in the field of HIV/AIDS.
Following the gaining of knowledge and skills in the field of HIV/AIDS, Dr. Morolo turned her attention to the field of Occupational Health and completed a Diploma in Occupational Health and Medicine with the University of Pretoria. It was while practising in the field of occupational health that her interest in Urology was intensified, due to the significant number of patients she assessed that presented with urological conditions, in particular possible urological cancers.

People with risk factors for Urological cancers.
- Blood in urine i.e. Haematuria.
- Lower urinary tract symptoms e.g. frequency, urgency of urination and waking up several times at night to urinate.
- Family history of cancer e.g. prostate, breast cancer.
- Men 40 years and older requiring prostate cancer screening.
People who have been diagnosed with Urological cancers requiring treatment.
- Surgery with a focus on minimally invasive surgery e.g. laparoscopic surgery.
- Chemotherapy
- Radiation therapy
People with incontinence (involuntary leakage of urine).
- Bed wetting
- Urine leaks when pressure is exerted on the bladder e.g. when coughing, squeezing, laughing, exercising or lifting heavy objects.
- Urine leaks accompanied by sudden urge to urinate.
- Inability to feel/sense that bladder is full with resultant urine leaks.
- Continuous urine leakage.
